A Dung Stick

A seeker asked Uman "What is a Buddha?" Uman answered, "A dung writing stick."

This story deals with the fact that all students of Buddhism strive to attain enlightenment and become a Buddha. All look up to Buddha as an ideal; that which is pure, perfect and most honored. They try to overcome evil, death and ordinary life to become such a Buddha.

So, Uman with one blow tried to destroy this concept of Buddha by comparing it to the dung writing stick used by common people in China in the same way the corn cob was used in early rural America.

Buddhia is not a god, Buddha is a person who awakens to himself and lives that self as it is.
