Kansho Bell
Opening: All: The Dharma is deep and lovely. We now have a chance to see it, hear it, and practice it. We vow to realize its true meaning. Gathering Leader: May this gathering inspire us to help all beings create a spirit of awakening and understanding and live a life of peace and harmony. Meditation: When you are with someone whom you love, you can talk and it is pleasant, but the reality is not in the conversation. It is simply in the being together. Meditation is a form of communion, whereby you are one with..... You don’t need to say a thing... It’s just wonderful to be together. Bell Silent Meditation- Being in Touch! Bell Nourishment Offering: (a cup of rice!) With humble awareness we offer this gift of life. May each precious grain come to nourish body, mind and spirit— in the Way of Oneness. Offering of rice Reading: In relationship to a spiritual teacher, the concepts of close and distant have no meaning. The teacher is beyond close and distant. It is not only the body and personality of a teacher that you hope to learn from. When the body turns to dust—what will you have learned? It is the inner lover we wish to grow close too. The teacher is the one who knows the inner lover. He can introduce you. He can plant the seed. From there you must tend the garden. Reading "THOUGHTS FOR THE NEW YEAR" by Rev. Gyomay Kubose from Everyday Suchness Dharma talk given by your Dharma teacher Meditation: Come to meditation and open yourself inside to all of life. Open your creative energy to the activity you undertake every day, from that basic opening simply and quietly and introspectively move through the world performing the different acts you do daily. Refrain from the tendency to become negative in any respect. Allow that power of creative energy to work its magic around you. After a while your mind matures and you understand fully the nature of this creative process. Then you will surely be free. Bell Silent Meditation - Sheer awareness of that which is...just as it is! Bell Loving Kindness Invocation All: May all beings be free from enmity. May all beings be free from ill treatment. May all beings be free from troubles. May all beings be free from suffering. May all beings protect their own happiness. May all beings be happy. May I be happy. Presentation of Nourishment offering Closing Minister: We surround all people and all forms of life with Infinite Love and Compassion. Particularly do we send forth loving thoughts to those in suffering and sorrow; to all those in doubt and ignorance, to all who are striving to attain Truth; and to those whose feet are standing close to the great change called death, we send forth oceans of Wisdom and Love. All: May the Infinite Light of Wisdom and Compassion so shine within us that the errors and vanities of self may be dispelled; so shall we understand the changing nature of existence and awaken into spiritual peace. Minister: To all Enlightened Ones … All: … who are present in their teachings, we pledge our loyalty and devotion. We dedicate our lives to the way of life they have laid down for us to walk. We resolve to follow their example and labor earnestly for the enlightenment and welfare of all mankind. Bell (THREE TIMES) Announcements |
